How to correctly use RaggTopp to clean and protect a convertible top!
RaggTopp How-To Video
RaggTopp is the recognized leader in best-in-class products for taking care of your car's canvas convertible top.
Start by rinsing the top to remove any loose dirt embedded into the weave of the fabric.
Spray a wet application of the RaggTopp RaggTopp Fabric and Vinyl Cleaner over the top.
Use the RaggTopp/Haartz Convertible Top Brush to gently work the cleaner over the surface.
Rinse thoroughly - be sure all cleaner has been flushed off the top.
Repeat the cleaning step to the other side
Then give the top a final rinse...
The least invasive drying method
Use a quality microfiber drying towel like the McKee's 37 Glacier 1100 Drying Towel to blot any excess water out of the fabric via capillary action.
See the section I blotted is now almost completely dry without rubbing a towel over the fabric tearing it up.
Now do you see it?
Move your car into your garage or shop where it can dry away from airborne dirt and pollution.
Use fan to speed up the drying process.
Pro Technique Tip
Always spray from the outside of the top towards the inside of the top. This allows most of the over spray to land on the top instead of on the glass and adjacent body panels.
Wrong technique
If you spray from the center of the top outward, you'll waste product as a lot of the overspray will land on glass and paint.
Mike's original and RaggTopp approved application technique
Instead of letting the protectant lie on the top and dry, put on some nitrile gloves and massage the RaggTopp fabric protectant over and into the weave of the fabric.
Use a clean, dry microfiber towel to remove any overspray off of nearby paint or glass.
Clean and protect once a year
To keep your canvas, cloth convertible top in factory new condition and also to restore a waterproof surface, clean and protect your car's top at least once a year.
Final results
RaggTopp Fabric Protectant will not only provide the best UV protection available as well as waterproof the fabric top, it will also restore a crisp factory new appearance to give your convertible the finishing touch.
Ready to cruise in stye!
How to maintain your RaggTopp protected convertible canvas top
Now that you've performed all the step to correctly clean, protect and waterproof your car's convertible top, here's how to take care of the top moving forward. Maintaining is a whole lot easier than doing all the cleaning and protecting steps and it really comes down to using a premium quality car wash soap. Here's 3 car wash soaps I use and trust.
Each one of these car wash soaps are pH balanced and formulated to clean any exterior automotive surface.

Recommended Car Wash Mitts
For wash your car and the convertible top, I really like and use microfiber chenille wash mitts. Besides working great, the large caterpillar-like microfiber fingers clean well when washed in a washing machine to keep them contaminant-free.
